However, the casting of Jim O'Heir as Frank in Better Call Saul 's Gene timeline was even more successful for the show than if he'd come across Saul Goodman instead. Parks and Rec fans know that it's an honor just to be in the same room with the legendary Lil' Sebastian, so the fact that they give Jerry the responsibility of looking after the celebrated mini horse is one of the kindest things the department ever does for him. Jerry was exactly the sort of honest, hardworking man that James McGill could never be, instead seeking shortcuts to success that would pave the way for Saul Goodman. Jerry suffered many indignities over the years, including his infamous " fart attack," but the writers attempted to make up for this by introducing his perfect and loving family later in Parks and Recreation. It's this much-loved role that makes O'Heir such terrific casting as Frank in Better Call Saul. The Parks & Recreation crew spent a lot of time making fun of Jerry, who hardly ever complained about it. Jerry was a gentle and patient presence in the office and often fell for the various pranks and scams his Pawnee Parks Department colleagues would play on him. In Parks and Rec, O'Heir portrayed the long-suffering and bullied Jerry Gergich. Parks writers try to make up for this by giving Jerry an idyllic homelife, content demeanor, and well-endowed manhood, but the mean-spiritedness of the Jerry material always has seemed at. In order for the heist to succeed, Gene must enveigle his way into the security office, so he befriended Frank, played by Parks and Recreation's Jim O'Heir. ![]()
